- MCS To Celebrate Veterans Day 2008
On Monday, Nov 10th at 10:30am, Moultonborough Central School will be holding an assembly in the MCS Gym to commemorate Veteran’s Day and recognize our local veterans who have served our country.
This year’s MCS Veteran's Day Assembly will be our11th annual celebration and we would appreciate having many local veterans join us! The assembly is designed to remember and honor those who have served our country in all branches of the armed services. This event was started to help our students understand what a veteran is and to remind them of the sacrifices that have been made to keep our country free. The program will includes patriotic music, readings, and the introductions of our honored guest veterans. Over the years we have had many veterans join us, including local residents, and family and friends of MCS staff and students from a variety of armed services backgrounds. At the conclusion of the Assembly, all veterans are served lunch in the MCS Dining Room as a thank you for attending.
As part of this year’s event, The school is looking for local veterans who would like to attend the assembly. If you are interested in attending, please contact Moultonborough Central School (476-5535). The general public is also cordially invited to join us for this special assembly.

Our speaker will be Richard Brewster of Andover, who will describe the Civil War in 40 minutes. He will cover the Lincoln you didn’t know, why the war was fought, the two wars – east and central, why Gettysburg shouldn’t have happened, why southern leaders weren’t tried for treason, and why slavery ended in name only.
The luncheons are sponsored by the Wilmot Community Association and Wilmot Ladies' Aid Society in cooperation with the Belknap/Merrimack Community Action Program. The IEP Clinic will provide parents with a “hands-on” opportunity
to become better prepared and more comfortable participating in
the development of the child’s IEP. Please note that individual
IEPs will not be written at this workshop. Instead, participants will
be given information and skills to enable them to apply what is
presented to their own child’s situation. Participants should bring
their child’s IEP or 504 Plan to the training. The format will
